The Imperial Palace Gardens are only open two days a year, and this being one of them, we ventured out. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the palatial buildings, but the torrential rain had probably dampened my spirit. The highlight was watching the Japanese display such enthusiasm for their Emperor, despite his request for brollies to be closed whilst he waved.
