Woke at 5am on Friday, but it was worth it as we were on the slopes by 8:30. Gala is built for one day skiing. Equipment hire and cable cars are within the train station for convenience. Getting up early did affect the body clock, we were eating curry and drinking beer at 10am. The skiing was good fun, Rommy and I attempted several jumps; I was the only skier trying - much to the annoyance of the boarders, as every time I crashed, it took several minutes to retrieve my skis
When I returned to Tokyo, I hooked up with Mike and Sophie (over from HK office) and Midori & Pat - despite my shattered state, we stayed up drinking till 2am !
